How DoodlePortal works
DoodlePortal turns paper drawings into living 3D characters on a shared screen. Here is the complete journey, from pencil to portal.
1. Open a world on the big screen
Pick a world and start a session on the device connected to your TV, beamer or digiboard. A QR code appears in the corner of the screen.
2. Kids scan the QR code
Each child (or group) scans the code with a phone or tablet. The camera opens a simple step-by-step wizard — no app store, no account.
3. Photograph the drawing
Lay the drawing on a flat surface with good light and take a photo. Tips appear on screen to help get a clean shot.
4. The magic wand cuts it out
The background disappears automatically. Kids can fine-tune with the eraser, add stickers, and even give their figure arms and legs that really move.
5. Launch into the world
One tap on the launch button and the creation enters the 3D world with its own entrance — a rocket launch, a splash, a racing start.
6. Press the big red button
Every world hides a surprise. The big red action button triggers shark attacks, apple rain, confetti cannons and more.
💡 Tips for the best result
- ✔️ Use thick, dark outlines — they cut out beautifully.
- ✔️ Plain paper and good light make the magic wand more accurate.
- ✔️ A laptop with HDMI or a Chromecast works great for the big screen.
- ✔️ Drawings stay on the host screen, so you can keep building all afternoon.
